2.2. Some of the criticisms of the current treaty body system which have sparked the call for reform are outlined below[1]:

Criticism No. 1: Multiplication of bodies and experts – too many different treaties (which is also continually growing) each with their own reporting mechanism which in turn creates a significant burden on the state who has to report to each of these.

In your view as an NGO, is this a valid concern?

Does this also create a burden on NGOs preparing alternative/shadow reports?

How could this concern best be addressed (both the burden on State and the burden on NGOs)?
